Services

If you choose to use our services, the first step in the process will be for us to have an initial consultation with the player.

The goal of this meeting is get to know you as much as possible as a person and a hockey player so that we can create a plan that works well for you. On this initial call, we will also fill out a player development sheet. The player development sheet will consist of what your goals are both on and off the ice, what your strengths and weaknesses on and off the ice are, and what your plan will be to grow and improve as much as possible. We will use video from your past games if available, but primarily this meeting will be a question and answer format where we encourage and guide you to get in writing your strengths, weaknesses, and goals in hockey. We will talk a lot about goal-setting and how to set goals that both make you excited and that are realistic. We will go through each section of this player development sheet together on this initial consultation call, and by the end we will have a general introductory plan for how we will go about advancing you as a hockey player and as a person.

Video

We believe that engaging in video review of a player’s shifts is a crucial tool to help the player learn from their mistakes, talk through different ideas, and become more conscious of the pros and cons of their game. We offer a biweekly video session that ranges from 30-60 minutes in length. In the session, we will break down the player’s shifts and intermingle relevant NHL/pro hockey clips as teaching points.

While we will prepare talking points and shift breakdowns beforehand, this process is very much collaborative. These video sessions will provide the player an opportunity to talk through any questions, concerns, or general ideas that they have regarding their play.

Mentorship Calls

Our mentorship calls offer players an opportunity to get professional guidance on academic or logistical issues. Similarly to the video, these calls will be biweekly and range from 30-60 minutes in length. The specific content of the calls will vary depending on what the player needs from us at that particular point in time. Examples of the guidance we provide on these calls are:

  • Professional Guidance: We can provide advice and guidance on building effective and actionable habits that help the player work towards being the best hockey player and person they can be. Oftentimes, we will refer back to the player development sheet, which the player will fill out in our initial consultation, to check in, and amend when necessary, the player’s goals for the season.

  • Resume building and editing: This can be done on the mentorship call, or simply through email, but we will offer guidance in creating the best possible resume to put yourself in position for college applications or recruitment opportunities.

  • General strength and conditioning advice and nutritional advice: While we are not certified strength and conditioning coaches or nutritionists, this advice will focus primarily on building and keeping proper habits to keep the player’s body in peak shape.

  • ACT and SAT guidance: Again, while we are not ACT or SAT tutors, our coaches have gone through the standardized testing process and performed well. We offer guidance on testing requirements and timelines, and will help you and your family make a plan for how to navigate the standardized testing process.

  • Track academic requirements for D1 compliance

  • Assist with all aspects of college application process, if necessary
